CBRE has just released preliminary outputs from the latest National Survey of Local Shopping Patterns.
The NSLSP is the largest continuous household survey of consumer shopping destination preferences undertaken in Great Britain and although the survey approach means that results are always retrospective, FSP has found NSLSP to be the most accurate available source of catchment penetration and shopper trip information.
Results from the NSLSP can be aggregated to produce a national ranking of centres and the table below compares the top 20 locations for main comparison goods shopping with the previous edition. London and Glasgow remain the top locations while Manchester despite the attentions of Liverpool One keeps ahead of Birmingham. Liverpool moves above Cardiff however, the St Davids Centre extension had not opened at the time of the survey.
This years rising stars include High Wycombe, Dunfermline and Livingston while fallen idols include Birkenhead, Bridgend and Hartlepool.
