Google to add Store View? – 04 May 2010

Google is testing its plans to extend Street View, which lets users view details of streets across the world, to allow consumers to see store interiors from their computer.
Businesses need to sign up to the service, dubbed ‘Google Places’, and put in a request that Google visit them to carry out a free photo shoot of their store interior. Although businesses have been able to upload their own images, this is the first time Google will be taking charge.

The initial testing of Google Places will take place across 30 towns and cities in the US, Australia and Japan.

Google released a statement about the new service: "We’ve been experimenting with this over the past few months and now have created a site for businesses to learn more and express their interest in participating."
