The FSP Business Established in 1976, FSP are retail business consultants to the retailing and shopping centre industries. Our over-riding objective in all our work is to help improve retail performance. A major FSP usp is that all our consultants have a senior retailing management background. Our work is bespoke, confidential and our strategic proposals specific to the client. Our products are solutions to the major problem issues facing retailers and shopping centre owners. They include: Strategies for retailers in Merchandise, Market Positioning, Business Start-ups Strategies for shopping centre owners–Impact Studies, Pre-acquisition appraisals Performance Improvement (of strong and weak centres), Merchandise and Tenant Mix Benchmarking shopping centre performance ratios and due diligence for owners Drawing on the same expertise we work on Town Centre strategies, leisure and catering projects, viability studies and Market Entry assignments. Individual consultants take on Retail Expert appointments. For all projects, FSP design the necessary consumer and market research to ensure the whole work programme is fully integrated with the outputs necessary for well-based strategy development. We audit shops and estimate achieved merchandise category sales. We employ own-developed market positioning and analysis techniques in our interpretation and strategy development work. A major feature of our service is to take our strategic recommendations forward to implementation usually working within the client’s development team in market analysis, retailing, competitors, physical/usability and promotional matters.
