Geoff Nicholson has extensive retail experience in both mail order as Marketing Manager at Empire Stores and in shops, carrying out a variety of senior jobs before becoming Retail Managing Director of Hornes. He has an MBA from Wharton (University of Pennsylvania) and has worked in retail consultancy, first with the TMS Partnership, where he dealt with many of the major clothing and footwear retailers, and since 1989 with Fripp Sandeman.

He works on a wide variety of shopping and shopping centre tasks including some of the biggest in the UK. Beyond the normal run of work, recent projects have included an appraisal of the effectiveness of the administration of Service Charges, the development of Customer Relationship Management systems and conducting a retail impact study outside the UK. He is a member of the Market Research Society, a past course tutor and examiner for the BCSC Diploma in Shopping Centre Management and has been a director of Fripp Sandeman since 1994.
