About Us
FSP can trace its roots back to 1976, when Fripp Sandeman and Partners was founded by the late John Fripp and Graham Sandeman, management consultants from the renowned but now defunct management consultancy Urwick Orr.
Since then, though Fripp Sandeman & Partners remains our registered company name, we have become known by most as FSP – the UK’s leading retail business consultancy.
Since the late 1980’s, FSP has been primarily involved in retailing investments in the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe, working with retailers, investors, shopping centre, retail park and factory outlet centre managers and owners, travel and leisure operators and the public sector.
Our clients include AREA Property Partners, Legal & General, Aviva Investors, Bournemouth Borough Council, ReBlackpool, Clas Ohlson, HMV, Manchester Airport and many more. For a complete list of the companies we have worked with, please see our Clients List.
Our Methods
At FSP, research is the rationale behind a decision. From working together to develop a brief that addresses the real issues, to presenting the findings in a way suited to you, we aim to provide the type of project that you want, underpinned by a tried and tested focus on research and analysis.
FSP projects are typically lead by one of our four Directors, working with our in-house Analyst team. Our Analysts use a variety of specially developed analysis methods and databases, alongside recognised industry research tools, including;
- National Survey of Local Shopping Patters (NSLSP)
- A Classification of Residential Neighbourhoods (ACORN)
- Local Data Company Town Centre Intelligence (LDC TCI)
- CES Economic and Social Research
Our experience provides a broad context within which to interpret research findings, enabling us to deliver robust research data on time and on budget.
